Colorado Becomes Third US State to Pass Clean Lighting Legislation

In June 2023, Colorado became the third US state to pass legislation that sets phase out dates for linear & compact fluorescent lightbulbs. Section 8 of HB23-1161, “Environmental Standards For Appliances” establishes the “Clean Lighting Act” to phase out the sale of general-purpose fluorescent light bulbs that contain mercury by 2025.
